Owner's Manual and Owner-Builders

Friday, 05 June 2009 08:23
Over the years we have become particularly popular with "owner-builders".  I think there are a number of reasons, not the least of which is our "Owner's Manual".  When you buy any piece of equipment of significant value you almost always are provided with an Owner's Manual as a reference source for questions you may have.  It seems logical therefore that one of the biggest investments you ever make should certainly include such a handy reference.  Our Owner's Manual not only includes information about your new Timber Frame and Stress-skin Panels, but a number of chapters from developing your specifications, site planning, electrical and plumbing and articles on things to look out for and expect in your new home.  The manual itself is a 3 ring binder that provides for you to add materials such as receipts and other manuals for appliances and fixtures for instance.  We also recommend taking pictures of all the interior stud framed walls before the wall covering is applied as a record of what is buried there such as plumbing, wiring, and hvac ductwork and adding these pictures to your manual.  You can see more about our manual as well as some sample pages on our old website http://www.spbrooks.com/#manual
