Hello All:

Winter is finally here.  We hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving!!!

The guys from Brooks Post & Beams came back last Monday and installed are SIP panels.  As always it was fascinating to watch.

Our electricians also came to install our main electrical panel and the box for our meter.  That was inspected and now we are waiting for the electrical company to come and install our meter, transformer and run the cables underground to our house.  They will come the 1st week of January.

We have a couple of weeks with nothing happening as we are waiting for our framer/carpenter to finish the house he is currently working on.  I predict it will be the 1st week of January at the latest.  Lisa and I picked up our wood stove from Direct Buy this past Saturday.  Thanks to Sam, Peter & Hank we were able to maneuver it into the garage.  It was no small feat.  Anyway, here are some (many) pictures.  Happy Chanukah!!!

11/29/09 - The happy builders on the new timber frame.  The traditional branch showing the building is at its highest height.11/29/09 - The happy builders on the new timber frame. 11/29/09 - here we again. Another view of our frame. 11/29/09 - Peter, Bettylou & Lisa on the 2nd floor of our house.  FYI, there are no stairs yet so they all had to climb a ladder to get up there.11/29/09 - Peter, Bettylou & Lisa on the 2nd floor of our house. 11/29/09 - I could not resist. The Oz.
11/29/09 - The Happy Family 11/30/09 - Our SIP panels arrive from Foard Panel Company. 11/30/09 - He is unloading the panels using a remote control crane. How cool is that. 12/1/09 - 1st SIP panel is up.  They are OSB on 1 side, insulation in the middle and blue board on the interior.12/1/09 - 1st SIP panel is up.
12/1/09 - 1st floor west wall is up. It took no tine at all. 12/1/09 - Mark is routing out some of the insulation from a panel. 12/1/09 - This finished router job. This is a good look at a panel. 12/1/09 - Mark is using a large saw to trim a panel.  There is no difference between a blue or pink panel.12/1/09 - Mark is using a large saw to trim a panel.
12/1/09 - What a cool saw. 12/1/09 - here is a better look. 12/1/09 - Joe, Mark & Andrew haul a panel up to the 2nd flr. 12/1/09 - All hands on deck.
12/1/09 - This is our south gable of our house.  The 2 large rectangle openings are for french doors that will open to a deck.  Dan is hanging out of our waterfall windows.12/1/09 - This is our south gable of our house. 12/1/09 - West side of house is finished 12/1/09 - South side is finished. 12/1/09 - Mark & Dan are bending a 2x4 to fit into the curve of the waterfall window.  They cut slices into the 2x4 every 2 inches so it would bend and not break.  Pretty ingenious.12/1/09 - Mark & Dan are bending a 2x4 to fit into the curve of the waterfall window.
12/1/09 - You see it bending. 12/1/09 - Finished product. 12/1/09 - A picture through the house. 12/2/09 - The south gable side with the 2x4s in place to support the waterfall windows.
12/2/09 - East side of house is being finished. 12/2/09 - North side of house is being worked on. 12/2/09 - Joe is routering a panel that has already been installed. What a mess. 12/2/09 - At this point I am laughing my ass off and he is yelling at me cause he is pissed.  He kinda looks like a blue snowman.12/2/09 - At this point I am laughing my axx off
12/2/09 - The roof is going on. These panels go up quick. 12/2/09 - Joe & mark installing a roof panel. 12/2/09 - Setting it in place. They make it look so easy. 12/2/09 - Joe at the very highest peek of the house.
12/2/09 - Now he is screwing in the panel.  This roof is steep.  The crawl over the roof and frame like they were 2 feet of the ground.12/2/09 - Now he is screwing in the panel 12/2/09 - Looking good. 12/2/09 - A lot of panels to go. 12/2/09 - Andrew pre-screwing the screws into the panel.
12/2/09 - Panels are flying. 12/2/09 - Panel flying over our frame. 12/2/09 - Mark walking on the top of our frame. This is 3 stories up. 12/2/09 - Placing a roof panel
12/2/09 - Joe screwing in a roof panel 12/2/09 - Before he can finish screwing in 1 panel another is right there. 12/2/09 - Joe is not afraid of heights. 12/2/09 - Here comes another.
12/2/09 - Setting the panel in place.  These panels are thicker, therefore heavier than the wall panels.12/2/09 - Setting the panel in place. 12/2/09 - Dan finishing up the install on the gable roof. 12/3/09 - Rob & his brother installing the meter box.  Can you believe its December.  Its 62 degrees out.12/3/09 - Rob & his brother installing the meter box. 12/3/09 - Finished product.  Now we wait for CL&P to hook up the meter.12/3/09 - Finished product. 12/3/09 - Our sky lights. 12/4/09 - The north gable.  All of the bubbles are insulation that they use to seal the panels together.12/4/09 - The north gable.
