Well the work got started on Jan 4th. and it has been moving at a quick pace.  I am lucky enough to be able to spend lots of time on site to witness and document the building process.  Every weekend Lisa and I spend at least one day cleaning up the site.  We cannot believe the amount of scrap wood that there is.  Also, the amount of garbage that accumulates in a week.

 The pictures start with them building our garage all the thru roofing the house.  So lets get going.

1/4/10 - Landing for              basement stairs.  They were waiting for a wood delivery so they              did this to keep busy.1/4/10 - Landing for basement stairs. 1/4/10 - Kitchen is all set up. 1/4/10 - Drawing out the bedroom walls for the 1st flr. bedrooms. 1/4/10 - Headers for windows. Still waiting for wood delivery.
1/4/10 - Beginning of garage be built. 1/4/10 - The garage wall is going up. 1/4/10 - Do we have a wall? Its a start. 1/5/10 - The walls of the garage are up.
1/5/10 - This is what it looks from the inside. 1/5/10  Look how              serious Ray is.  This is Ray Smith our Framer/Carpenter.               He is driving his favorite toy. A This is Ray Smith our Framer/Carpenter. 1/5/10 - That's Luis              & Luis getting ready to take the engineered beams off of the              lull and set them in place.  This is the beginning of the 2nd              floor of our garage.This is the beginning of the 2nd floor of our garage. 1/5/10 - What will be the front entrance to our house and our breakfast nook.

The garage is 24' by 26'.
1/7/10 - Looking out of the garage onto the driveway. 1/7/10 - The gable for              the garage is almost ready to be stood up.  How exciting is              that.  This is the 2nd flr. decking of the          garage1/7/10 - The gable for the garage is almost ready to be stood up 1/7/10 - Looking down @ the breakfast nook from the 2nd flr. of the garage. 1/7/10 - And the gable              is up.  There are no photo's of the gable going up as I was              helping to lift it into place.1/7/10 - And the gable is up.

1/8/10 - Well its              snowing, so the guys moved inside.  Luis &              Luis started framing the rooms on the 1st flr. while Colin              worked on the 2nd. flr.  This is one of the bedrooms on the 1st              flr.1/8/10 - Well its snowing, so the guys moved inside. 1/8/10 - Here's Luis              waiting for more wood.  Behind him is the 2nd bedroom and the              bathroom.1/8/10 - Here's Luis waiting for more wood. 1/8/10 - This is the              2nd flr. and the beginning of the bathroom.  Specifically the              shower.  Our shower upstairs is going to be 8' by              6'. <br />1/8/10 - This is the 2nd flr. 1/8/10 - This is the door to the bathroom and where the spa tub is going.
1/8/10 - Here is another view. The toilet goes in the back corner. 1/8/10 - This is the entrance to our bedroom. 1/8/10 - This is looking from the 1st flr. up to the 2nd. 1/10/10 - The house has doubled in size. Pretty cool.
1/10/10 - View from the north side 1/10/10 - Lisa working hard cleaning up the site. 1/11/10 - Luis getting              ready to do some damage to a sip panel.  The had to cut the              overhang off to attache the garage roof to the house.  How              sad.1/11/10 - Luis getting ready to do some damage to a sip panel. 1/11/10 - They are              happy that is finished.  They did not realize how strong these              sip panels are.1/11/10 - They are happy that is finished.
1/11/10 - The garage roof is starting to get the sheathing put on. 1/11/10 - All              sheathed.  Boy that went quick.  I went to work for 4              hours and came back to this.1/11/10 - All sheathed. 1/11/10 - Another view. 1/11/10 - Luis is finishing the other side of the garage.
1/11/10 - Luis is telling Luis what needs to be done next. 1/11/10 - Luis #2 is              on roof attaching sheathing while Luis #1 is cutting the pieces to              size.1/11/10 - Luis #2 is on roof attaching sheathing 1/11/10 - Collin is              working on the roof to the front porch and Luis #2 is doing a              balancing act on the roof.1/11/10 - Collin is working on the roof to the front porch 1/11/10 - Luis #2 is relaxing on the roof. Great place for a break.
1/12/10 - More wood. The lumber yard loves us. 1/12/10 - The interior of the breakfast nook. The roof is on.

There are a lot more pictures so I will be breaking this blog into 2 sections.  Part 2 Will be coming tomorrow.
